AutoGen Legacy Support and Migration Planning

AutoGen was placed in maintenance mode by Microsoft in October 2025, with no new features planned. We maintain existing AutoGen agents, fix issues, and plan migrations to actively developed frameworks so your investment is protected.

We build, deploy, and manage your AI agent. You focus on your business.

What Is AutoGen?

AutoGen is a multi-agent conversational AI framework from Microsoft Research, first released in 2023, where multiple AI agents collaborate through structured conversations to solve tasks. The v0.4 rewrite in early 2025 introduced an asynchronous, event-driven architecture built on the actor model.

However, in October 2025, Microsoft placed AutoGen into maintenance mode and announced the Microsoft Agent Framework as its successor. AutoGen continues to receive bug fixes and security patches but no new features. Microsoft published a migration guide, signaling that AutoGen future is limited.

We work with AutoGen in two scenarios: maintaining existing AutoGen-based agents that clients have already invested in, and planning gradual migrations to actively developed frameworks (CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, or LangGraph) while preserving multi-agent patterns and business logic.

How We Work With AutoGen for Your Business

Legacy Agent Maintenance

For clients with existing AutoGen agents, we provide ongoing maintenance, bug fixes, security patches, and monitoring while planning migration to actively developed frameworks.

Multi-Agent Analysis and Review Systems

We use AutoGen conversational pattern for internal tools where multiple agents debate, review, and refine outputs, such as market analysis or content review workflows.

Code Review and QA Automation

We deploy AutoGen agent teams that review codebases, identify bugs, suggest improvements, and validate changes through multi-agent discussion, leveraging its core strength in code tasks.

Research and Prototyping

We use AutoGen as a rapid prototyping tool to explore multi-agent architectures before implementing production systems in more robust frameworks like LangGraph or OpenAI Agents SDK.

Migration to Microsoft Agent Framework

We help clients transition from AutoGen to Agent Framework as it reaches GA, preserving investment in multi-agent patterns while gaining enterprise features.

Human-in-the-Loop Review Workflows

We leverage AutoGen built-in human proxy agent pattern for workflows requiring human approval at checkpoints, such as content approval pipelines or purchase authorization chains.

Example Agent Systems Built With AutoGen

Document Review Team

A summarizer, fact-checker, editor, and compliance reviewer pass a document through sequential review stages, each adding annotations and corrections before the final approved version.

Business Plan Critique Agent

Market analyst, financial analyst, and strategy critic agents review a business plan through conversation, identifying weaknesses and producing consolidated feedback.

Data Analysis Pipeline

A coder agent writes analysis scripts, an executor runs them, a reviewer checks results, and a reporter formats findings, iterating until the analysis meets quality standards.

RFP Response Generator

Agents collaborate to draft RFP responses: one extracts requirements, another matches capabilities, a third drafts sections, and a fourth reviews for completeness and compliance.

Technical Troubleshooting Agent

A diagnostic agent asks questions, a knowledge agent searches documentation, a solution agent proposes fixes, and a verification agent confirms resolution, mimicking a support team.

Content Localization Team

Translator, cultural adaptation, and quality checker agents work together to localize marketing content for different markets, each reviewing and improving the others output.

Why Let Us Handle AutoGen?

It is in maintenance mode with no new features

Microsoft stopped active development in October 2025. Building on AutoGen carries risk that it will not be supported long term. We help you maintain existing agents and plan migration when ready.

Things break and need someone watching

Even in maintenance mode, dependencies change and issues arise. Someone needs to keep your agents running while the framework winds down.

Your time is better spent on your business

Every hour maintaining aging AutoGen agents is an hour not spent on your customers or growth. Let us handle the technical side.

We maintain your AutoGen investment while building a path to modern frameworks.
